Could it be the end of the glorious history of the Kryviy Rih football club? Hard to believe, but the reality suggests so. Nothing is being done to prevent this unfortunate turn of events. It seems that the only people who care about the club are Kryviy Rih supporters. They try to influence the situation by creating provoking banners, writing open letters, signing petitions, preparing actions to support their favorite team. Meanwhile high-ranking officials of the big city couldn’t care less. Perhaps the ideas of the city patriotism or help to suffering are totally alien to the modern society.

As for the match, Kryvbas players showed the same indifference to the game as local authorities did to the club’s financial problems. The teams were even for most part of the first half. On 14 minutes Motuz managed to miss the goal from just two meters. The rest of the time both sides were unable to trouble each other until 30 minutes when Devic connected with Gancarczyk’s free kick to put the ball into Hidi’s net. Kryvbas couldn’t approach Metalist goal until the end of the first half while Devic made the situation even worse for hosts on 45 minutes by scoring his second.

In the second half Taran chose to let in another forward Sachko but the player was just as unable to make any difference on the pitch. Metalist secured their victory with the third goal that was put in by Jackson Coelho. They could score the fourth too but Hidi managed to stop the ball after Metalist player went one-on-one with him. At the end of the game Kryvbas tried to bite back and Kharkiv defenders had to clear the ball off the line in one episode. However Taran’s men didn’t manage to score a consolation goal.

Oleh Taran, Kryvbas head coach:

- There are no trifles in football. There are many components in organization and we reap the fruits of it. It certainly affects the players psychologically. We had chances and we could convert it if not for our psychological condition. Everybody tried their best today. We played against a good team whose class isn’t lower than that of Dynamo or Shakhtar. We also want to create a team like that. We have good players in the squad but our problems are completely different.

- Will you stay in Kryvbas if the club management changes and financial difficulties are solved?

- It’s not about me, it’s about Kryvbas brand. I am tired of this myself and sometimes I feel ashamed before our supporters. But believe us, we are doing everything we can. We will battle until the end but we are in a difficult situation at the end of the season. The most important is that our conscience is clear.

Myron Markevych, Metalist head coach:

- One can see that Kryvbas have financial problems. Players lack emotions although the team doesn’t belong at their current league position. Football without emotions is impossible. Our victory was easy today although I cannot say it was our best match. There were plenty of mistakes, although the result is good, especially for an away match. We still battle with Dnipro for the third place. There are three matches left. I think the main fight is still ahead.
