Spartak’s Ukrainian midfielder Maksym Kalinichenko confessed to the journalist that he had lost his connection to the motherland. New national team head coach Oleksiy Mykhaylichenko didn’t even call the player to ask how was his injury rehabilitation going.

- I didn’t speak with the new coach, - Kalinichenko told us. – I haven’t received any calls from the coaching staff. I didn’t watch Cyprus-Ukraine match because I had to place to watch it.

Predictions

However Mykhaylichenko most probably will use the creative midfielder in the WC-2010 qualifiers. Maksym also hopes to put the national team jersey on and promises not to look pallid against England and Croatia.

- We will fight. No one promised an easy life for us. Each time we have a group of death. But before the tournament has started everybody have equal chances, and then we’ll see.

Kalinichenko makes no predictions about his rehabilitation.

- I don’t want to speak beforehand, - he said. – Of course I want to return to the pitch as soon as possible but I won’t hurry. Doctors say everything is good. I hope to help my teammates soon.
