Oleh Protasov: We are not afraid of Dynamo

Dnipro currently are in training camp in Turkey. Blik correspondent called Oleh Protasov.

– After the first training camp you said that Dnipro newcomers reacted on your demands in different ways. What did you mean?

– I meant that they were only getting used to new requirements. One player came from Romania, another one from Czech Republic, third from Russia. They had different systems of player preparation in their former clubs so they need time for adaptation.

– Do you have language barrier in communication with the Argentinean forward Osmar Daniel Ferreira, the Romanian Jon Mazilu and the Czech Mario Holek?

– I only have problems with the Argentinean because I don’t speak Spanish. Mazilu and Holek speak in English with me.

– Who of the newcomers was bought at your wish?

– We discussed the new signings together with the club management and made joint decisions.

– Who is the fastest in Dnipro according to the tests?

– Davidson who is recovering from the injury now was the fastest during the last test.

– A well-known coach said once that a coach has only 11 allies – those who are in the starting line-up, others are his enemies. How are you going to build your relations with the players that won’t make it into starting eleven?

– It was Berndt Schtange. I don’t separate players into first team and reserves and treat everybody in the same way. I am sure the players will adequately react on the situation. We have about 30 players in the team and only 11 may go on the pitch. Is it a problem for me? You know, I am happy to have such problem.

– In Greece you were surprised at first that players told journalists about all details of team talks in the dressing room. Is it good or bad that such things don’t happen in Ukraine?

– Of course it is good. I think that everything that is said within the team should stay there.

– On March 2 Dnipro will play their first match of the second half of the season at home against Dynamo. Will you send a scout to Dynamo’s training camp in Spain?

– We are not planning to do this yet.

– Aren’t you afraid of the new Syomin’s Dynamo that seem to be in a good form?

– We respect them but we are not afraid. We are aware that they changed the head coach and will be in an appropriate mood.

Yeah, the 2nd Marth will be good game. I'm fun Dynamo, but always like Dnipro too, it's almost ukranian team, so I'm just waiting for fight. Good luck both teams. It's pity they don't play in Kyiv, I want to stadium!
