The audience expected that Sharan’s team would put up a real fight as relegation from the future Premier League was at stake. However a battle of outsiders didn’t happen. It seemed that hosts went on the pitch to lose or just to spend time. Bessonov’s men did what they should, scored three goals and increased their chances to stay in the future Premier League.
Fedetskiy began the hammering seconds after the stadium announcer finished with the lineups. Batista ran into the area and Babenko could only parry his shot to Artem who put it home – 0:1.
The early goal forced hosts to add some pace but it didn’t lead to threats for Khudzhamov’s goal. Hosts built their attacks through the right flank where Ksyonz was the only Zakarpattya player whose performance wasn’t disastrous. He showed some dribbling and sharp passing but his teammates couldn’t use those passes. The only notable episode of the first half for Zakarpattya was Yarosh’s shot from 12 meters.
In the second half visitors took over the initiative completely and made good use of it. On 56 minutes Batista connected with Horodov’s cross and scored the second goal. Towards the end of the game Fedetskiy made the double as he used the mistake of Donets who suddenly slipped and gave away the ball.
Volodymyr Bessonov, FC Kharkiv head coach:
- The result was more important than the style in this match given the position of both teams. We created several dangerous chances and scored three goals. I am happy with the three points but our relegation is still not ruled out completely. We still have matches to play. Luckily for us several Zakarpattya key players like Braila and Bundash were unavailable for the match because of injuries. Our tactics was to give up the ball possession and won ourselves space to attack and we did that.
Volodymyr Sharan, Zakarpattya head coach:
- There is nothing to comment, you saw everything with your own eyes. I started working in this club with the match against FC Kharkiv and I will end it the same way. I just learned that I am already fired.
