Vitaliy Postranskiy: Ilsinho faked it! |
The match in Donetsk between Shakhtar and Metalurh Zaporizhya ended with the confident hosts victory. However the impression of spectacular and full of goals game was spoiled by the episode when Luis Adriano who scored the opener was injured.
UA-Football correspondent started his conversation with Shakhtar defender Oleksandr Kucher with the question about Adriano’s health.
- Doctors helped Luis immediately after the match and then took him to hospital. They said he had a concussion. I hope his condition will get better as soon as possible and he will return to the pitch.
- How would you assess the strength of Zaporizhya team?
- Metalurh are generally a good team but this time luck was on our side. I like their willingness to play head-on, open football. However all teams can cause us problems and Metalurh are no exception.
- Can you say that cup matches affect your games in the championship?
- I cannot say for sure. We all show full commitment in both cup and league games. We pulled back a little in the middle of the season but our opponents and coaches helped us to quickly come around. I don’t think there is much difference between cup and league games.
We also asked Metalurh goalkeeper Vitaliy Postranskiy to comment on the match. In the second half he stopped Ilsinho’s run but the Brazilian’s picturesque falling led the referee to award a dubious penalty kick.
- Do you think there was a penalty in that episode?
- I am sure that there was no penalty and Ilsinho dived! I played cleanly and didn’t touch him. The referee should show him the yellow card for diving.
- Can you say that matches against Shakhtar are a matter of principle to you?
- To some extent, yes. Games with teams like Dynamo and Shakhtar always cause raised mood, responsibility and are marked with obstinacy.
